Pavilion

Shoreditch cool, French chic

Pavilion

Pavilion has a reputation as Shoreditch cool, the hipsters place for latte; but as a lifestyle choice having a bakery in east London with six shops and a home in Cornwall would tick a lot of boxes for a lot of people. Rob Green was working in Sri Lanka in the hills and became frascinated and fell in love with the country and the tea. He brought some tea back and sold it from a stall in Borough Market. There are now six outlets for the bakery and the shops often offer dahl as a tip of the hat to the Asian inspiration (and most of the team who are from Sri Lanka). The main business is French style bread and coffee plus croissants and pain au chocolat. The web site has a rather fine visual depiction of the whole operation without dropping into the usual cliches. It is Shoredicth cool too.
